Michigan Central Station Detroit
A marvel of architecture & design that may never be matched!
Detroit Michigan was once vibrant city, even though Detroit currently hides in the shadow of its former glory there is a glimmer of hope as the downtown area begins its revitalization. Detroit still holds many architecturally remarkable buildings of which one is the Michigan Central Train Station
. This site will highlight this wonderful buildings history and current outlook, with photos!
The Glitz and Glamour Years!
The station built in 1913 was once very busy with patrons going to or from work and immigrants coming to the city of opportunity. At it's pinnacle anywhere from 60-80 trains pulled in and out of the stations 11 tracks per week. Click here for a more in depth history and photos.
The Dark and Dreary Days
Although abandoned the station still gives a sense of awe. It has been left in the hands of mother nature and local vandals for 20 years. Click
here
for a more in depth account of its current condition in 2007 along with many photos.
